Dog Mistaken For Boris Johnson

In news that is likely to embarrass the government, NEWS of the NEWS understands that a large, fluffy dog has been mistaken for Prime Minister, Boris Johnson.

Government sources have confirmed that the dog, a prized English Sheepdog, was being walked by its owner along a road adjacent to Downing Street earlier today when it was spotted by a member of the Cabinet who wrongly thought it was the PM.

The Cabinet Minister, whose identity has been withheld, is understood to have commented in the moments following the discovery of his error: “Well we’ve hardly seen Boris recently and, to be fair, the dog has probably attended more COBRA meetings.”

In an ironic twist, the dog, which is frequently used for stud, is thought to have sired fewer offspring than the loose-trousered Prime Minister.
